We have an extraordinary opportunity to contribute to some major arts projects being planned by Ripon Cathedral and Art in the Churches in 2022 and 2023. These projects are big and exciting, and we need to plan now!
You don’t have to be really into art. We’re looking for people who can:
- capture the vision of a big public project
- support the team at Ripon Cathedral in working together to meet their goals
- understand RCoS’ own goal as part of these projects, ie to convey to as wide an audience as possible that we welcome refugees and that seeking asylum is Not a Choice, Not a Crime.
- help ensure that RCoS is able to contribute fully and meet our commitments
- get things done (eg admin, calling/emailing people, making arrangements, etc)
- work well with other people.
So for example, you might:
- work with local schools to enable a visiting poet to do workshops with children around asylum issues
- help to organise a visit of refugees and asylum-seekers to come to Ripon to see the art and have a day out here
- come up with an idea that we could contribute to the overall project
- work with other City of Sanctuary groups within the region to see how they could get involved
- help with publicity, or work with others to plan an event.
