Outwood Primary Ripon, one of our city’s two secondary schools, is getting behind our collection for refugee students.

Outwood Academy Ripon is collecting stationery to go to refugee students in other parts of Yorkshire. They’ve had to come to our country because it wasn’t safe to stay in their own country.

Many of them have missed years of school because of war or conflict. This means they usually struggle to catch up – and to learn a new language first, as well! Plus, they often don’t have anough money to buy the things they need for school.

So your Academy has very kindly said it’d love to help. Doesn’t new stationery make everyone feel better?

Here’s what to do:

1 – Ask your family or carer to buy one or more items on this list:

  • An A4 pad
  • A pencil case
  • Biros or gel pens
  • Pencils + a rubber + a sharpener
  • A pocket English dictionary
  • Colouring pencils
  • A ring-binder
  • A small stapler + staples
  • A hole punch
  • Felt-tip pens

2 – Bring them in to the Academy before Friday 20 November

3 – Pop them in the giant yellow wheelie bin

4 – Feel glad you helped someone your age!
